Big News!!!!

So I have some really big news that Im excited about. My friend from college JT has offered to be my financial backer in tournaments. So the first tournament I will be playing in is the Nov.6 $230 buy in No limit hold em event at the ip poker classic. Im not really sure what to expect as far as how big the tournament field will be but i know it probably will be at most 500 but more likely around the 200 area. Now this is good for me as I have fielded that many competitors before...so I will keep you posted on this tournament play.

Rough Start

So the first few days have ended and it has been a rough start. I put $100 on my online account, which takes an act of God to get on there, so I could play a $90 + 5 buy-in tournament. I was chip leader for a while but then got coldecked like crazy. Oh well, its poker and it happens. So then i was down to a measly $10. What to do? I started playing $2 sit-n-gos and winning like crazy. They only pay $9 for first but I worked the bankroll back up to $50. Im not bragging but thats winning 4 out of 5 tournaments and coming in second in the fifth. Now my tournament game is pretty strong but my cash game has been suffering as of late cause I decided to get cheeky and play in the .50/$1 pot limit omaha game. Now I usually win at least $300 in this game but I kept getting my hand in with the best of it only to be sucked out on the river. Once again...Thats Poker! In other news I am joining a poker crew at my local card place called the Bad Beats Crew...look for us. Coming up is some news that excites me and might just keep you reading this blog...so until then Go Hollywood on em!

Beginnings

Welcome to my new blog! It will be focusing on my journey from amatuer poker player to , hopefully, professional level play. I will update everytime I play a tournament, cash game, or home game. My updates will include stats pertaining to tournament victories and bankroll swings. For those of you who don't know me my name is Greg Padilla. I have a wonderful wife, Emily Padilla, and a month and a half old son, Aiden Padilla. I mostly play online under the alias Redhollywood but can also be found in home games around mobile and my favorite place to play Cardsharks.
